I am Amy Kittiudom. I am Thai but I was born and rose in America. Now I am the first MC of DMC Channel who reports news in English. I would like to report our latest success to you.
I am the representative of the news staffs of the Public Relation Division to inform you about this good news to you and your students. That is we, the news staffs, shot the Dhammachai Dhutanga in the heart of Bangkok during April 2nd – 6th, 2012. We reported it from the sidewalk around Siam Paragon Department Store among Thai and foreign visitors.
After that, we had brought the video, edited it to be the news clip and sent it to CNN. Only one night passed, CNN contacted and asked us many questions because they were interested in it. They asked me to shoot the additional interview clips and sent them to CNN again.
On Friday April 20th, 2012, CNN replied us that they are going to broadcast this news on iReport for CNN program on CNN International Channel. They plan to broadcast it for 2 minutes each, 7 total times, so the total on–air time is 14 minutes.
MC of CNN commented in the program that the Dhammachai Dhutanga in this time was very attractive for both Thai and foreign visitors and he added in the end that this dhutanga was remarkable.
CNN also honor Dhammakaya Foundation as the foundation gave the pictures of this news, CNN show text “Dhammakaya Foundation” under CNN’s logo on the upper right corner. We can say that CNN decided to broadcast this news because of the good pictures of Buddhist Cultures we had done.
I would like to thank Luang Phaw for arranging this dhutanga. It gave me a chance to make merit as the news reporter and bring the good pictures of dhutanga to the world.
