The Press Conference of the Rain Retreat 100,000-Monk Ordination Project Nationwide
The press conference of the Rain Retreat 100,000-Monk Ordination Project Nationwide was arranged at the Buddhist Exhibition Building in Buddha Monthon, Nakhon Pathom province. The spokesmen were as follows:
1. The Most Ven. Phraphromdilok, member of the Sangha Supreme Council and Ecclesiastical Provincial Governor of Bangkok, said that the Sangha Supreme Council supports this project
2. Phra Sanitwong Wuttiwangso, Public Relation Department of this project
3. Mr. Nopparat Benjawatananun, Director General of Office of National Buddhism, who was H.E. Mr. Niwatthamrong Boonsongpaisan, Minister of Prime Minister’s Office, unveiled about the government and Office of National Buddhism support the ordination project
Special Seminar for this project
On this occasion, the Most Ven. Phraphromdilok said that this mass ordination is the activity which all sectors should support. The more often the ordination is held; the more benefits Buddhism, our nation and society will get. It also shows that the Buddhism development is better. When there are more new monks, this will keep Buddhism. And if four Buddhist Communities harmonize and know their duties, it shows the legitimacy of Thailand as the World Buddhism Center.
Special seminar for this project
Mr. Nopparat Benjawatananun said that Office of National Buddhism has the mission of supporting monastic work and government work by supporting, protecting and developing the Buddhist works and activities, keeping and looking after the religious properties. If the Buddhist activities are under the condition of the public security and the Buddhism stability, the government is willing to support and counts them as the important missions.
