This world is a collection of people with flaws greed, anger, delusions, jealousy. Men and women, we all have flaws.
The Lord Buddha taught the way to create the very best in oneself by eliminating greed, anger, and ignorance through the accumulation of merit.
The Lord Buddha stresses that the three categories of defilement: greed, hatred and delusion are like usurpers in the mind. They darken our minds and obstruct us from enlightenment.
Bad shows create bad pictures and memories in our minds. Bad shows can generate anger, greed, and delusion in our minds. Bad words and bad deeds come from bad thoughts. Bad thoughts come from bad pictures in our minds.
This phrase is short and clear, but how many people will realize how important it is and apply it in their lives? The words “clean the world” in this phrase certainly include not only cleaning tangible things (removing pollutants, wastes, etc.) but also cleaning intangible things (eliminating hatred, greed, etc.).
In Thai tradition, on important days like New Year’s Day, or other auspicious days, younger generations always pay respect and ask for blessings from their elders. I’d like to ask Luang Phaw the importance of blessings, and how one bestows blessings.
There are many people who are afraid to practice meditation because they afraid to lose their minds. How can we explain to them to understand about meditation more clearly?
The beginning training lesson described already is meditation practice. This is the path for building peace in human society.
