กามคุณ หมายถึง สิ่งที่น่าปรารถนา ชวนให้รักชักให้ใคร่ พาใจให้กำหนัดยินดี มี 5 ชนิด คือ รูป (สิ่งที่ตามองเห็น) เสียง กลิ่น รส โผฏฐัพพะ (สิ่งที่กายสัมผัส) กามคุณ 5 นี้เป็นอารมณ์ คือสิ่งที่ยึดดึงใจให้ปรารถนา ให้รักใคร่ เป็นต้น จึงเรียกอีกอย่างหนึ่งว่า "กามารมณ์" แปลว่า อารมณ์คือกามคุณ ไม่ได้หมายถึงอารมณ์ทางเพศเพียงอย่างเดียว

Intoxicants: In general this means allowing alcohol and drugs being absorbed into the body through drinking, inhaling, insertion, spraying, smoking, and injection
