Buddhists in South Africa submitted United Nations a petition against
Thai junta government misuse of dictatorial article 44 !

The representatives of Buddhists association of South Africa came together and presented a letter and documentary evidence to Mrs.Katherine Liao, secretary of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, to inform her about the violations of human rights being committed by the Thai government against Buddhism. In particular, the information presented noted the use of Article 44 of Thailand’s Constitution against the Phra Dhammakaya Temple and members of the Buddhist community in ways unprecedented in Thailand’s history.

ที่ข่มเหงรังแกพระภิกษุสงฆ์และวัดในพระพุทธศาสนา
วันนี้ (8 มีนาคม 2560) นางสาวสุรัสวดี สง่าลี ประธานกรรมการชุมนุมพุทธศาสตร์แห่งประเทศแอฟริกาใต้ ได้นำคณะกรรมการและสมาชิกทั้งชาวไทยและแอฟริกาใต้ไปยื่นหนังสือคัดค้านอำนาจรัฐบาลไทยที่มีการใช้มาตรา 44 ที่เป็นกฎหมายที่ไร้มนุษยธรรม เนื่องจากมาจากอำนาจเผด็จการโดยตรง มีการละเมิดและคุกคามสิทธิเสรีภาพของพระภิกษุสงฆ์-สามเณรและพุทธศาสนิกชนอย่างที่ไม่เคยมีมาก่อนในประวัติศาสตร์ไทย โดยยื่น ณ องค์การสหประชาชาติ เมืองพริทอเรีย ประเทศแอฟริกาใต้ โดยผู้รับมอบคือคุณ Katherine Liao เลขานุการประธานคณะกรรมาธิการองค์การสหประชาชาติเพื่อสิทธิมนุษยชนและเลขานุการฯ จะได้เร่งนำข้อมูลหลักฐานประเด็นที่มีการละเมิดสิทธิมนุษยชนเข้าสู่วาระการประชุมต่อไป
