Use of the downer for treatment

Questions from an audience:

I have to use of the downer for the near–death patients to relieve the patients’ pain which each patient troubles less but the patient is stupefied before passing away.  This treatment will cause me to get any retribution.  If yes, what is the correct way?

Answer:

This treatment will not cause you to get any retribution because it is the medical care.  If you are still worried, you should make a lot of merit – giving, keeping the 5 precepts, and meditating.
