Human Skin Color*

Questions from the audience:
I have the dark brown skin. What retribution has caused me to be like that?  The human skin color is the only effect of anger frequency and those who are angry deeper will be darker than the others. Is it correct?  If those who have brown or dark skin are not angry easily and not often in this life, when they reborn again, their skin color will be lighter or not.

Those who love to have the tan skin and have the sun bath.  Is there any reason behind or force them to do like that?

The human skin color can be classified roughly to be three categories which are the white color like the Europeans, the yellow color like the Asians and the black color like the Africans.  What is the main retribution that affects it different?  Does the skin color affect the human’s anger?  Is the African angry more often than the White or Yellow?

Answers:
You have the dark brown skin because of your bad speech in the previous lifetime.  In that lifetime, you had teased your friend who had dark brown skin too much so that your friend was disgraceful.  This bad retribution has affected you to have the dark brown skin.

People have brown or black skin because of 1) the bad retribution of the anger frequency, 2) the karma of bad speech in the previous lifetime, or 3) the environment in this lifetime, etc.  The darkness of skin color is depending on the degree of anger and such bad speech.

If those who have the brown or black skin are not angry easily and not often in this lifetime, it does not guarantee that when they reborn again they will have the lighter skin.  If they are arrogant and look down on others, they may reborn in the wilderness area and have the dark brown or black skin.

About the people who love to have tan skin and have the sun bath, it is just the personal taste and nature of human being who is not satisfied what he/she is or has.
Human skin color can be classified roughly in 3 categories which are the White, the Yellow and the African.  It depends on many factors such as retribution, mind, weather, food, environment, etc.

About the retribution factor, the good retributions such as giving food, offering clothes, etc. will affected the doers to have the smooth, fine and beautiful skin.  But the bad retributions such as the bad tease, curse, or being angry frequently, etc. will affected them to have the rough skin.  The Africans often have the bad retribution of anger frequency more than the Whites or the Yellows.

*From translator:  I decided to translate this article because I would like to give an idea about the relation of human skin color and bad retribution, not the aspect of racial discrimination.  Even if you have brown or black skin, you still have the even opportunity to be happy like others or even more than the others if you attain Dhamma especially Dhammakaya.
