A comment about how to improve the Buddhism subject

The assistant abbot of Tharn Nam Lai Temple gave his comment about how to improve the Buddhism subject for Thai youths by focusing on the Dhamma studies & activities.

Phrakru Monthien Manthiro, the assistant abbot of Tharn Nam Lai Temple (Suan Mokkhaphalaram) commented about the Buddhism subject improvement that it was good news that the government was interested in Thai youths’ Buddhism studies. But the improvement should do in the standard form and continuously in every government.  The government doesn’t give only the policy in the important holy days and let it go.  In his opinion, if the religious principles are put in more activities, the students will more understand the Buddhism and know how to apply in their daily life.
About there was someone proposing the government to appoint the common or important Buddhist holy days as the national holidays for Thai people will have more holidays, so more of them will go to the temple.  He thought that the workplaces, schools, official places or private companies should arrange the religious activities instead. Because the Buddhist congregations have a lot of the important Buddhist holy days as National holidays or special events.
