The ceremonies of the Buddhism Support Day, receiving the new “The National Office of Buddhism” Building, and the foundation anniversary of the National Office of Buddhism were arranged in front of the Luang Phaw Wat Paknam Building, the National Office of Buddhism, Buddha Monthon, Nakhon Pathom province on October 4th, 2012.  The Most Ven. Phramaharatchamangkhalajarn, the abbot of Wat Paknam Bhasichoren and member of the Sangha Supreme Council, was the Monastic President.  Mr. Niwatthamrong Boonsongphaisarn, the Minister of Office of the Prime Minister, was the Laypeople President.

Mr. Niwatthamrong said that Thing he wanted the National Office of Buddhism to do was developing Buddha Monthon to be the Center of the World Buddhism according the agreement in the World  Vesak Day Assembly in Thailand in 2005.  The National Office of Buddhism should begin it in 2012 for making Thailand as the Center of the World Buddhism honorably and making Thailand to be the Buddhist Information Center so that the Buddhists from all over the world wanted to visit Buddha Monthon as well as promoting the tourism.

Other than the building, he determined that the Thai Buddhists’ behavior was an important factor for being the Center of the World Buddhism.  Thai Buddhists should keep five precepts well and seriously.  Moreover, the government wanted to increase the Dhammaduta monks to disseminating the Buddhism in the oversea.
