ต่อมาในปี2532 เขาได้หย่าขาดจากภรรยาเรียบร้อย แล้วพาลูกไปเที่ยวอเมริกาอีกครั้ง หลังกลับจากอเมริกา เขาก็พาลูกนั่งรถไปดูคฤหาสน์หลังใหญ่ ซึ่งตั้งอยู่บนพื้นที่ขนาด 24 ไร่ ในย่านที่ไม่ห่างไกลจากเมืองหลวงของประเทศเบลเยี่ยม ขณะเดินชมคฤหาสน์เขาก็เปรยๆ กับลูกว่า “บ้านหลังใหญ่ขนาดนี้ ผมไม่ได้สร้างไว้เพื่ออยู่คนเดียวหรอกนะ”
