นางอมราได้ยินพระนางเจ้าอุทุมเทวีตรัสทักทายสามีของ ตนเช่นนั้น ก็รู้สึกแปลกใจยิ่งนัก จึงเหลียวมามองมโหสถผู้เป็นสามีด้วยสีหน้างงงวย แต่มโหสถกลับยิ้มให้นางอย่างปกติ เป็นเหตุให้นางยิ่งฉงนใจ พร้อมกันนั้นก็มีคำถามเกิดขึ้นในใจมากมาย
ภายหลังฉุดนางมาได้ ชายเหล่านั้นก็พานางไปพบมโหสถผู้เป็นนาย นางอมราแม้มายืนอยู่เฉพาะหน้าของมโหสถ แต่ก็ยังจำโสมทัตสามีของนางไม่ได้เลย แม้แต่จะเฉลียวใจสักนิดหนึ่งก็ไม่มี เพราะเหตุที่ก่อนนั้นมโหสถได้ปลอมตัวเป็นช่างชุนธรรมดาๆ ซึ่งต่างจากมโหสถในบัดนี้ราวกับคนละคน
