Mobile VersionYouth Camp // June 12-15, 2016 - DIMC, California
From June 12-15, 2016, DIMC, California organized a Youth Camp for kids to come learn and practice many things in regards to the Buddhist culture and meditation. There were about 15 kids that came to participate in this youth camp. There were many activities such as ice breakers, daily journal writing, offering food to the monks, morning and evening chanting, meditation, dharma study, chores, making food, painting shirts, and a beautiful candle lighting ceremony to end the program. All the kids enjoyed staying at the temple with their friends and learning new things. Once the camp was over, their parents were impressed with what their children learned and how their behaviors changed from before coming to this camp. It was a great opportunity for the kids to be apart of a camp in order to better themselves and train themselves to be good and virtuous according to the teachings of the monks and staff of DIMC during their summer break from school.
