Fine Arts Department Recorded the Cremation of Somdej Kiew as archives

DMC News – March 13th, 2014

Fine Arts Department recorded the Cremation, by Royal Fire, of Somdej Phra Buddhacharn, late President of Acting Supreme Patriarch of Thailand, to create as archives.

Mr. Anek Sihamat, Director–General of Fine Arts Department, said that he got a report which the National Archives of Thailand had sent the officials to record the Cremation (by Royal Fire) of Somdej Phra Buddhacharn from March 7th – 10th, 2014.  They cooperated with Wat Saket Raj Vora Maha Vihara to take photo and collect data of this event at the Royal Crematory and data from Wat Saket.  Wat Saket recorded data and took photo since his holiness had been sick of paralysis until he passed away on August 10th, 2013.  After arranging all ceremonies, the National Archives of Thailand and Wat Saket would make the archives of Somdej Phra Buddhacharn together.

This is an important historic event for the new generation to study because his holiness was a senior monk whom mass people respect.  Wat Saket is responsible for the budget because the temple has allocated for it.
