 The Minister of the House of Prime Minister prepares to develop Buddhists to support ASEAN

Mr. Sansak Charun Ngamphichet, the President of the Committee of Religion, Art, and Culture of the House of Representatives of Thailand, was the president at the meeting room in the House of Parliament Building 3 and Mr. Niwatthamrong Boonthongpisan, the Minister of the House of Prime Minister, attended in this meeting as the Supervisor of the National Office of Buddhism.

Mr. Niwatthamrong Boonthongpisan, the Minister of the House of Prime Minister, said, “We have to prepare ourselves to join ASEAN. We are lucky that the world praise us to be the Center of the World Buddhism. So we have to develop our country to be the Buddhist Information Resource.  We should have museums for all sects of Buddhism.  We should be the hub which cooperate and help Buddhists from all over the world and Buddha Monthon will be our center because we have lots of people and our practice has been in the leading position.  The most important thing we should do more is the personal development.  We have to develop four Buddhist Communities – monks, novices, nuns – to be the good ones.  If the Buddhists are not good, the status of the Center of the World Buddhism will be grow worse.  About ASEAN, the National Office of Buddhism has plans to develop and support monks to do the monastic duties fully and encourage people to get closer to Buddhism.”
