การที่คนเราจะให้อภัยคนอื่นได้ มีความจำเป็นว่า จะต้องฝึกตัวฝึกใจให้มีคุณสมบัติที่ดีพอก่อน เช่น นึกถึงคุณความดีของเขาที่มีต่อเรา นึกถึงโทษของการผูกโกรธ นึกถึงคุณของการให้อภัย ฯลฯ
